Reconnect with nature, build confidence on the trail, and learn essential backpacking skills with an experienced guide in a supportive, women-only setting.

Join Elemental Recovery for a two-night guided beginner’s backpacking trip through the beautiful and ecologically rich Wolfden Loop in Pine Mountain, Georgia. This 6.7-mile loop offers gentle terrain, scenic creek crossings, and the opportunity to sleep beneath the stars surrounded by Georgia's diverse forest.

🏕️ Trip Highlights:

  • Perfect for First-Timers – Learn essential backpacking skills from Lane, an experienced and supportive guide.

  • Small Group Experience – Connect with like-minded women in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.

  • Learn-by-Doing – Set up your tent, hang your food bag (learn the PCT method), collect and filter water, and cook your meals in the backcountry.

  • Forest Bathing Moment – Visit "Ferney," a massive loblolly pine known for its grounding presence and phytoncide-rich air. Lane will share forest bathing techniques to deepen your connection to nature.

🗓️ Itinerary Overview:

Friday:

  • Hike to Old Saw Mill Campsite, stopping to admire creek crossings and wooden footbridges.

  • Set up camp and visit “Ferney” the giant loblolly pine.

  • Intro to backcountry cooking, water filtration, and fire-building (weather permitting).

Saturday:

  • Hike to Sassafras Hill Campsite at a relaxed pace.

  • Practice selecting your own tent site and setting up camp.

  • Enjoy opportunities to splash in the creek and further explore the area.

Sunday:

  • Leisurely hike back to the trailhead after breakfast.

  • Wrap up your adventure with new skills, friends, and confidence!

Not Included:

  • Backpacking gear (tent, sleeping bag, stove, etc.)

  • Food

  • Georgia State Park parking pass ($5)
